Spada Codatronca Car Concept

Spada Codatronca was styled by the Italian design house Spadaconcept, a new design studio founded by Ercole Spada, and is built by another Italian company, UK Garage. With the Codatronca prototype, their goal is to revive the classic Italian sportscar concept, which mixes modern technology with tradition. Spada Codatronca concept is based off a Chevrolet Corvette chassis, with suspension-systems, engine and other mechanicals enhanced by the tuning shop, inspired by the 1965 Alfa Romeo TZ1. The Coda Tronca that means „truncated tail” in Italian, will be unveiled at the upcoming show in Monaco on April 24.

Spada Codatronca Spadaconcept focused more on aerodynamics, lightness and handling, but still this car has a great acceleration and speed. The base model, Codatronca TS, has a claimed top speed of 330 km/h and sprints from 0 to 100 km in 3.2 seconds. A lighter-weight (1380kg) and more powerful (700hp) TSV track version will also be offered, with a top speed of 355 km/h and a incredible 2.7 second 0-100 km time.

Spada fits twin Rotrex superchargers, dual intercoolers, an eight-quart dry-sump lubrication system, titanium valves and connecting rods, sequential fuel injection and a boosted compression ratio of 11:1. All that nets an impressive 600 hp at 6,300 rpm and 790 Nm of torque at 4,600. The power is channeled through the rear wheels via a short-throw 6-speed manual. The lightweight aluminum spaceframe, fitted with a magnesium roof and composite engine cradle, shaves weight down to 1400 kg. Steering is power-assisted and speed-sensitive with a magnetic variable-effort rack-and-pinion setup, while stopping power is provided by 14-inch front and 13.4-inch rear vented and cross-drilled discs with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers with ABS, surrounded by monster 20-inch rims all around.

Spada Codatronca An unusual feature of the Spada Codatronca, apart from the amazing bodywork, is the digital readout positioned in the centre of the rear spine that displays the car’s current speed.

2010 Citroen DS3 - New Car Geneva 2010

All we know that citroen has been dominate the WRC For the recent decade, but notwithstanding the odd special edition C4 or Xsara, this french automaker hasnt capitalized onits rally success as the same way as subaru and mitsubishi have, Soon Citroen Sport will be switching from the C4 to the new DS3 in line with the new WRC format, but they're not waiting around to see how it fares before launching a rally-inspired version for the road.

Called the 2010 Citroen DS3 , the premium hot hatch is a limited edition packed with bits and pieces garnered from its WRC dominance. That means 200 horsepower from its 1.6-liter turbo four, a 15-millimeter lower sport suspension, upgraded brakes and the requisite trim enhancements. The result may look like a jack-o-lantern with a French accent, but make no mistake about it: the Mini Cooper JCW has been put on notice.Unfortunately, this is one of those adorable machines kept from American shores, but you can booty a afterpiece attending in our arcade of alive shots from the Geneva appearance attic (where it debuted alongside the Survolt and DS High Rider concepts) by click-clicking the thumbnails below.

Modified Cars

It's common practice for motoring enthusiasts to be penalised by their car insurer for modifying their vehicle. Whether its alloy wheels, an upgraded exhaust system, a performance enhancing engine chip or even privacy glass, the end result equates to higher risk, and in turn this leads to higher premiums.

However, with a little research you can make vehicle modifications work for you - and secure reasonably priced car insurance.

Most insurance companies enforce higher premiums on modified cars because they carry a higher risk. For example, a car with expensive alloy wheels is more likely to be a target for theft than a conventional vehicle.

Many young drivers, dubbed 'boy racers', have also given custom car owners a bad name by fitting induction kits, upgraded exhaust systems and powerful ICE (in-car entertainment) systems before cruising the streets in what can best be described as an anti-social manner.

So the emphasis is on the driver to prove their 'risk' is low to the insurer.

One method is to agree to a mileage limit. Many modified cars are driven occasionally rather than everyday, and the majority are rarely on the road during rush hour. If you prove to your insurer that you only drive the car for social or pleasure use, rather than commuting, you can reduce your premiums.

Another tip is to reduce the risk of theft by parking your car in a sceure garage overnight. Also ensure that you fit locking nuts on to alloy wheels. Fitting a tracker is also an insurer-friendly option, and although it may cost around £700, you will recoup the cost in your next few years worth of car insurance premiums.

Approach specialist car insurance companies too - there are many that cater specifically for modified vehicles and that may be able to offer quotes to motorists who may not find deals elsewhere.
